Hill Billy's was my personal spin off of a Trader Joe's, but personalized for upstate New York. The idea was to take a hillbilly point of view on products ranging from "light bulbs" to different types of home remedies. The logo is meant to embody the spirit of upstate New York in the most rouged, but yet cleanest of ways.
Pratt T Timeline
Pratt T Timeline is a Pratt based website, created to not only create revenue for those screen printers who are in desperate need of money for supplies. But also creates a new way for students to advertise their work through stickers, t-shirts, and really anything that the designer wants to apply their design too.
Gatorade Vital is a daily vitamin spin off of the G Series created in recent years. My focus was the lightning bolt rather than the G because the bolt is what created the Gatorade brand. I wanted it to be reminiscent of past Gatorade campaigns, but yet create a healthy, clean feel.
In Cold Blood By Truman Capote
In Cold Blood is a 1966 book by American author Truman Capote; it details the brutal 1959 murders of Herbert Clutter, a successful farmer from Holcomb, Kansas, his wife, and two of their four children. When Capote learned of the quadruple murder, before the killers were captured, he decided to travel to Kansas and write about the crime. He was accompanied by his childhood friend and fellow author Harper Lee, and together they interviewed local residents and investigators assigned to the case and took thousands of pages of notes. The killers, Richard "Dick" Hickock and Perry Smith, were arrested some six weeks after the murders, and Capote ultimately spent six years working on the book.
My job was to indirectly lead the viewer to perceive the book differently through the cover, but eventually understand how the cover and the book are one great piece. I did this through small habits the murderers had, as well as using the language of the book's characters to come up with my final product.
The Somalia Project
The Somalia Project was my personal take on a competition that pushed it's contestants to their limits in the Somalian Mountains. The idea was to start the contestants with nothing and as they progressed viewers would vote on who they want to help along the way.
The idea behind these SUUNTO watch ads and logo was to create a versatile watch that not only spoke to generation y but also portrayed the strength of the watch as well. The logo is meant to portray the excitement and energy that draws in a younger generation, as well as creating a sense of strength through the use of color, and the abstraction of the letters.
Grayton Beach was an attempt to brand a series of t-shirts, surfboards, and Jeeps among other things so that the area itself can create revenue to maintain the beach itself. This is need simply because this is one of the few beaches in the United States that still allows automobiles to drive on it.
A. Schultz Industrial Design
Aubrey Schultz Industrial Design was my take on an industrial designer budding out of Pratt Institute. The design was meant to represent the subtle changes she creates in her furniture from with to to the bottom.
